Hi April. I collect hippos and found this pattern on bittersweet. I then saw you question about the instructions for the snout. How did you manage to sort it out? I just don't understand it. I'd really like to crack on but tearing my hair out. Would really appreciate your input. Many thanks Tracey
Ok I went and looked at the pattern. It says With an F hook, Ch9, sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc1 into next 6 ch, sc3 into last st. Continuing around, sc1 into back posts of next 6 st, sc2 into last st (18 sts)
You literally do THAT. Continue AROUND. You just go around the "corner" so to speak crocheting in the bottom of the first chain.

Off the top of my head, if I recall correctly, you crochet to the end then flip it upside down and crochet along the bottom of the first row.
